RN Emergency Room Manager (Rotating Shift)
- Location: Salem VA 24153
- Shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM and 3:00 PM 11:00 PM (Rotating)
- Job Type: Permanent
- Guaranteed Hours: (40 hours/week)
- Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced RN Emergency Room Manager to lead our Emergency Department and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Emergency Room in the absence of the Director ensuring smooth operations and high-quality patient care.
- Plan and allocate resources based on patient volume workload and special activities.
- Assist in the development review and revision of unit standards policies and procedures.
- Participate in interviewing hiring and evaluating staff ensuring licensure competencies and mandatory training are current.
- Facilitate orientation and ongoing training for new employees students and volunteers.
- Maintain open communication with other departments to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Promote a positive patient experience through leadership collaboration and operational oversight.
Required Requirements:
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
- BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program (preferred)
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or multi-state compact license eligible for VA practice (required)
- ER Management experience is a must
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ACLS Instructor (within 1 year of hire)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor (within 30 days of hire)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or PALS Instructor (within 1 year of hire)
