Job Summary
Position: Operations Manager
Location: Middleton TN 38052 US
Schedule: Onsite Monday Friday 7 AM 4 PM (On Call)
Department: Manufacturing / Mechanical
Salary: $110000 $165000 per year
Variable Compensation: 20% ABIP (Higher for the right candidate)
Relocation: Available nationwide
Position Type: Backfill
Job Purpose
Guide organize and direct the hourly workforce in conjunction with lead operators. Manage plant operations and coordinate with maintenance to ensure equipment reliability. Control plant costs through effective planning and management. Support production activities quality safety and environmental programs. Assist the Plant Manager in developing and executing capital and annual budget plans.
Essential Job Functions
- Direct and organize the workforce to meet or exceed safety operational and quality goals.
- Ensure stationary and mobile equipment are operated per best practices.
- Plan long-term projects process improvements budgets and operational schedules.
- Maintain and audit quality safety environmental and health programs.
- Plan and schedule operations with maintenance to meet sales requirements.
- Perform administrative duties including planning budgeting scheduling and reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Experience Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical or Process Engineering or equivalent experience in mining or operations supervision.
- OR High school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in production management.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years in an industrial production environment (or 7 years with HS/GED).
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Strong background in operations planning programs (e.g. JD Edwards).
- Leadership and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with various personalities for continuous improvement.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move throughout the plant (climbing reaching stooping kneeling etc.).
- Must be able to lift approximately 25 pounds.
- Valid drivers license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering background in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience as an Operations Supervisor in a similar field.
Must-Haves:
- Valid drivers license.
- Physical ability to move throughout the plant and perform required activities.
Years of Experience:
- 5 years (with Bachelors) or 7 years (with HS Diploma/GED).
Industry Experience:
- Industrial production preferably in mining or operations supervision.
