Job Title: GitHub Production Support Engineer (with SOX Governance)
Location: Houston TX (Onsite preferred / Hybrid considered)
Duration: 6 months
Rate/Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience

As a GitHub Production Support Engineer (with SOX Governance) you will serve as a key technical resource responsible for ensuring the reliability security and compliance of the GitHub Enterprise platform. You will provide advanced troubleshooting collaborate with cross-functional teams and support development workflows that comply with enterprise governance and SOX audit controls.

• Provide Level 3/4 production support for GitHub-related incidents including repository access permissions workflow and branch protection issues.

• Troubleshoot and resolve GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions failures in collaboration with DevOps Engineering and Security teams.

• Review and validate critical configuration changes such as repository visibility workflow triggers branch protections and admin-level settings.

• Manage SOX governance controls for GitHub environments - ensuring audit readiness access reviews and change traceability.

• Collaborate with Information Security to align GitHub administration practices with corporate compliance and risk policies.

• Support CI/CD automation pipelines built around GitHub Actions ensuring proper role assignments and workflow reliability.

• Conduct root cause analysis of major incidents and document corrective/preventive actions.

• Create and maintain operational documentation including runbooks change logs and support procedures.

• Provide subject-matter expertise on GitHub best practices branching strategies and enterprise policy enforcement.

• Partner with infrastructure and development teams to improve operational efficiency through scripting and automation (e.g. PowerShell Python).

• Proven experience as a GitHub Production Support Engineer or GitHub Enterprise Administrator.

• Deep knowledge of GitHub Enterprise GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience managing SOX compliance controls and audit-ready documentation.

• Strong understanding of DevOps workflows repository governance and access management.

• Hands-on experience with scripting languages (Python PowerShell Bash) for automation and reporting.

• Familiarity with ITSM tools incident/problem/change management and SLA tracking.

• Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
