Job Summary

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Outpatient / Inpatient Services

Shift Schedule:

Regular Shifts Outpatient Department:
- Monday to Friday: 08:00 AM 05:00 PM (8 hrs 1 hr meal)
- Evening Clinic (Mon Thu): 10:00 AM 07:00 PM (8 hrs 1 hr meal)
- Sunday Clinic: 10:00 AM 06:00 PM (8 hrs no meal break)
- Holiday Clinic: 11:00 AM 05:00 PM (7 hrs no meal break)
- Mid Shift (Mon Fri): 09:00 AM 06:00 PM (8 hrs 1 hr meal)

On-Call Shifts Inpatient Department:
- Monday Friday: 04:00 PM 07:00 AM
- Saturday & Sunday: 07:00 PM 07:00 AM

On-Call Shifts Outpatient Department:
- Monday Friday (for holiday coverage): 07:00 AM 07:00 PM
- Sunday: 07:00 AM 07:00 PM

Contract nurses must report within 45 minutes when called.

How Many Shifts Needed Per Month: Approx. 168 to 184 hours/month (regular) 52 hours/month (on-call)

License: Active full and unrestricted RN license from any U.S. State District of Columbia or U.S. Territory (any state license accepted). Must have passed NCLEX and remain in good standing.

Certifications:

Mandatory: BLS ACLS and PALS (AHA certified)

Experience Needed:

Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 2 years in the assigned nursing area (Inpatient Outpatient or ER).

Special Skills Needed:

- Ability to provide full-scope nursing care (newborn to geriatric)
- Cultural sensitivity (Native American populations)
- EHR proficiency (IHS systems preferred)
- Teamwork and independent decision-making
- Ability to rotate departments and handle emergency coverage

Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 8 weeks

Responsibilities:

- Deliver direct nursing care across assigned units (Outpatient Inpatient ER)
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Participate in quality assurance and infection control programs
- Comply with HIPAA and facility confidentiality standards
- Rotate to other departments as directed
- Report within 45 minutes when called for on-call duty
- Adhere to schedule and code of conduct
- Perform charge nurse duties when assigned

Miscellaneous:

- Work may include weekends and holidays
- Must attend mandatory orientation and training
- Housing may be available on-site (subject to IHS Housing Manager approval)
- Must comply with Federal Code of Conduct and Nursing Ethics
