Project Overview
Client is seeking a Senior/Lead UX Designer to join its Core UX team. This role focuses on shaping and improving the digital customer experience across the travel journey. You will collaborate with designers developers product teams and business stakeholders to bring human-centered innovative user experiences to life. This position calls for a hands-on designer who excels in ideation iteration and building polished end-to-end design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Concepting
- Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to brainstorm and develop design solutions.
- Conduct research competitive analysis and discovery to identify user needs and business goals.
- Create rapid concepts with sketches whiteboards and design tools.
- Support design recommendations with data and insights.
Design & Iteration
- Build intuitive and engaging digital interactions aligned with Uniteds UX and brand standards.
- Develop navigation systems patterns and reusable components across digital products.
- Create low- and high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes.
- Work with usability researchers to plan and run tests applying feedback to refine designs.
Delivery & Collaboration
- Produce detailed design deliverables: flows wireframes storyboards mockups redlines and prototypes.
- Present design work to product UX and leadership teams.
- Partner with developers during implementation and respond to design questions.
- Collaborate with QA to validate functionality and resolve issues.
- Mentor junior designers and support team-wide UX collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Strong end-to-end UX portfolio (must-have)
- Experience working in cross-functional collaborative teams (must-have)
- Ecommerce experience required; shop/checkout experience highly preferred
- Excellent communication skills (poor communication is a deal-breaker)
Technical & Soft Skills
- Deep understanding of UX for web mobile and touch interfaces
- Solid grasp of web design principles and familiarity with front-end technologies
- Experience writing detailed design specifications and user flows
- Ability to lead design direction while mentoring others
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced ambiguous environment
- Strong storytelling and design-rationale communication abilities
- Self-driven organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks
