Job Summary

Legal Officer – NBFC
Location: Chennai
Experience: 2–3 Years
Qualification: LLB
Industry: Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC)

Key Responsibilities:
Draft review and vet loan agreements hypothecation deeds mortgage deeds and vendor contracts.
Ensure compliance with RBI regulations Companies Act and other NBFC-related legal requirements.
Handle litigation arbitration and recovery cases including cheque bounce and defaulter actions.
Issue and respond to legal notices manage case follow-ups with external counsels.
Support collections and recovery teams under applicable laws (SARFAESI NI Act etc.).
Conduct due diligence on borrowers and provide legal opinions on transactions.
Advise internal teams on contracts policies and risk mitigation.
Maintain updated knowledge of NBFC regulatory developments and ensure timely compliance.
Preferred Experience:
2–3 years of experience as a Legal Officer / Legal Associate in an NBFC Bank or Financial Institution.
Experience in loan documentation recovery litigation and compliance management.
Compensation:
Salary as per industry standards commensurate with experience.
