Job Summary

Were seeking someone to join our Treasury Risk team as a App Dev Team Mgr in FIDCOM to work on front office applications (Global Marking Sales and Trader workflow intraday and end of day risk etc) This is a unique opportunity to work on the Firms next generation cross-asset Risk Calculation Environment (RICE).

What youll do in the role:

  • Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization and discuss opportunities for improvement to existing and future technology solutions

  • Work on one of the largest Scala codebases in the world with a lot of opportunities to make significant contributions and impact to Firms business

  • Partner and interact with the trading desk and quants/strats as well as financial controllers market risk and derivative operations departments

  • Collaborate with a wide range of other technology teams as well for example: RICE Core/FX/Credit Optimus Enterprise Applications Infrastructure Analytics and many others

  • Work collaboratively with the local and extended global team as well as taking the initiative to solve problems to deliver the required functionality including both tactical and strategic initiatives

  • Effectively partner with the trading desk and strategists to help define requirements specifications as well as the implementation


What youll bring to the role:

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple functions or guide junior staff and initiatives

  • Advanced understanding of business line and discipline with some knowledge of competitive environment and other disciplines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Desire to learn and use different technologies to overcome complex problems in financial industry

  • Knowledge of Scala or Java or strong experience another language with desire to learn Scala

  • 10 years relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150000 and $210000 per year at the commencement of employment. However base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package which depending on the position may also include commission earnings incentive compensation discretionary bonuses other short and long-term incentive packages and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
