Simtra BioPharma Solutions (Simtra) is a world-class Contract Development Manufacturing Organization partnering with pharmaceutical and biotech companies to bring their sterile injectable products to market. With facilities in Bloomington Indiana US and Halle/Westfalen Germany we offer a wide range of delivery systems including pre-filled syringes liquid/lyophilized vials diluents for reconstitution powder-filled vials and sterile crystallization.

This role:
Simtra is seeking highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students for our Summer Internship Program. We look for diverse students with inquisitive minds and the desire to challenge themselves. Our interns work closely with industry professionals and learn quickly how to problem solve on real-world projects that contribute to clinical research and manufacturing addition to on-the-job experience we offer learning sessions with top leadership site visits to local projects and social events.

The Opportunity:
The Reliability Engineering & Maintenance under the team focuses on optimizing equipment performance improving reliability strategies and ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). This team reduces downtime of equipment and failures to meet financial goals.

Responsibilities/Projects:
The intern will work on real-world projects related to equipment reliability predictive maintenance and asset management in the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This intern will revise preventative maintenance for critical utilities equipment based on OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and historical performance access spare parts and optimize internal vs. external work.

Other projects that the intern may work on is working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track maintenance activities and asset performance assist in reliability engineering studies and assist in analyzing equipment performance for reliability improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a BS or MS degree in Engineering (Mechanical Chemical Reliability Industrial Biomedical Electrical or related field)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in reliability engineering and maintenance
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail including the ability to accomplish a task while demonstrating a thorough concern for all the areas involved
  • Knowledge of maintenance strategies like TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and Reliability-Centered Maintenance)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others in a proactive positive and constructive manner
  • Highly motivated self-driven individual with passion working within pharmaceutical industry
