Groundworks Finishers

About the Role

Were looking for an experienced Slabbing and Finishing Groundworker to join our groundworks and concrete structures team. This role involves preparing laying and finishing slabs and hard landscaping surfaces to a high standard ensuring accuracy quality and compliance with design specifications. Youll work closely with site engineers supervisors and fellow groundworkers to deliver excellent workmanship while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out slabbing paving and finishing works to required levels falls and tolerances

• Prepare and level sub-bases using compactors and laser levels

• Mix pour and finish concrete or mortar for bedding and jointing

• Lay slabs kerbs and edging units accurately to line and level

• Use appropriate tools and equipment (cutters compactors trowels etc.) safely and effectively

• Ensure all surfaces are finished to the required specification and quality

• Check levels falls and alignments in coordination with the Site Engineer or Supervisor

• Identify and report any issues such as poor ground conditions drainage problems or damaged materials

• Carry out pre-start and post-operation checks on tools and small plant reporting any defects

• Maintain clean tidy and safe working areas at all times

• Follow all company and site-specific Health Safety Environmental and Quality procedures

• Support other groundwork or concreting activities as required

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as a Groundworker particularly in slabbing paving and concrete finishing

• Valid CPCS or NPORS card (Groundworker Dumper Roller or related categories)

• Good understanding of levels falls and setting out information

• Ability to read and interpret site drawings and specifications

• Strong knowledge of safe working practices in live construction environments

• High attention to detail with a focus on quality and finish

• Team player with good communication skills and the ability to follow supervision

Desirable

• SSSTS or equivalent supervisor qualification

• Additional plant tickets (Excavator Telehandler etc.)

• Experience on RC frame or large infrastructure projects

• Training in manual handling confined spaces or lifting operations
