Role Overview
The Desktop Engineer will be responsible for delivering high-quality end-user computing support and maintaining the departments Standard Operating Environment (SOE) across all Windows devices. This role is critical in ensuring stable secure and efficient desktop infrastructure through modern deployment policy management and automation practices using Microsoft Intune and SCCM.
The successful candidate will join the ICT Operations Branch supporting the departments technology infrastructure and ensuring compliance with government security and operational standards.

Essential Requirements
Demonstrated recent experience in managing Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise environments.
Proven experience in application packaging and deployment using Intune and/or SCCM.
Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and configuration management.
Advanced Level 3 troubleshooting capabilities for complex system and policy issues.
Strong understanding of Windows 10/11 Intune SCCM and Active Directory.
Familiarity with ACSC Essential Eight and general ICT security compliance requirements.
Required Skills:
Architectural knowledge and experience: A robust understanding of architectural principles patterns and frameworks accompanied by practical demonstrated experience delivering IT Security assurance services including Security Risk Management Plans (SRMP) plus delivering and/or coordinating Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) services. Authentication services: Strong understanding of IT Authentication services in the Government and/or large enterprise context with a demonstrated ability to assess and deliver a consolidated authentication strategy and roadmap.
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology Cybersecurity Computer Science or related qualification in Cybersecurity Systems Architecture or related field certifications including but not limited to: SABSA TOGAF CISSP CISM AWS/Azure Security Specialty or training in security risk management frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001 ISM IRAP NIST) of continued professional development in cloud security architect
