As Chief Risk Officer youll lead the strategic risk compliance and governance functions across Suncorp New Zealand. Reporting to the CEO SNZ and sitting on the NZ SLT youll guide risk culture resilience and regulatory alignment across Vero and Vero Liability while contributing to Group-wide risk leadership.

What Youll Do

• Lead the development and implementation of SNZs Risk Management Program and risk appetite framework aligned to Group standards
• Provide strategic advice to the CEO SNZ Boards and executive team on operational and compliance risks financial risk and reputational risks.
• Oversee compliance regulatory affairs conduct risk and assurance functions across SNZ
• Chair the NZ Incident Management Team and represent SNZ in Group crisis forums
• Build and maintain a strong risk culture across SNZ encouraging transparency and continuous improvement
• Lead and develop high-performing teams across risk oversight governance and compliance
• Liaise with the SNZ Chair of the Board Audit & Risk Committee for Vero and Vero Liability as required.

What Youll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in law finance accounting or risk (or equivalent experience)
• Extensive experience in leading teams in insurance or financial services with deep expertise in risk leadership particularly Line 2 risk oversight.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic outcomes in complex environments
• Strong understanding of NZ regulatory frameworks and risk governance practices
