About the role:

Our growing CPG client is looking for their next VP of Accounting and Finance to support their growing and scaling business. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of our financial statements while providing strategic financial leadership to support the companys growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the Companys accounting function including financial reporting internal controls and compliance with all regulatory accounting requirements
Ownership of external financial reporting integrity ensuring US GAAP compliant statements are SEC compliant and reported externally on a timely basis
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments including Accounting FP&A Tax and Legal to facilitate timely reviews collect feedback and resolve issues effectively
Implement process improvements to streamline the external financial reporting process and improve information quality
Assist with the Companys statutory filings
Proactively monitor technical accounting assessments of new transactions and/or accounting standards and manage the Companys timely implementation of relevant pronouncements collaborating closely with all Finance team leaders
Serve as a subject matter expert on US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements with the ability to research and analyze new and proposed accounting guidance
Analyze competitor filings and industry reports to assess trends in financial statement disclosures
Maintain strong controls and processes in the global accounting operations; enhance design maintain and review internal controls and corporate policies and procedures for SOX compliance
Identify and implement effective controls as well as work closely with the team to support an efficient financial reporting process to support our continued global growth and scale
Manage the Companys assessment of the effectiveness of internal controls and work closely with the external auditors (quarterly/annually)
Build partnerships and relationships internally across the organization and externally that lead to the highest levels of collaboration and effectiveness
Review subsidiary monthly financial results and be a resource for technical accounting questions.
Prepare and or review technical accounting memorandums for significant or new transactions
Drive thought leadership in process improvement to scale forecasting and reporting tools procedures and methodologies

Requirements:

BA/BS in Business Accounting or Finance
CPA License required
CPG industry experience preferred
10 years experience in accounting roles with progressively increasing responsibilities
