Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Florida teaching certificate or valid Department of Education athletic coaching certificate.
- Valid FHSAA certification.
- Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Valid Florida Drivers License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Coaching experience at the high school level.
- Experience mentoring youth and fostering a positive team culture.
- Familiarity with academic eligibility requirements for student-athletes.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of the sports rules techniques and safety practices.
- Strong communication organization and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate with school staff parents and community partners.
- Ability to work evenings weekends and during school breaks as needed.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist with planning organizing and conducting regular practice sessions.
- Develop and implement game strategies and tactics.
- Teach fundamental skills techniques and sports rules to student-athletes.
- Supervise student-athletes during practices games and school-sponsored trips.
- Promote discipline responsibility and good sportsmanship among players.
- Ensure compliance with school district and state athletic regulations.
- Assist with maintenance of team equipment and uniforms.
- Assist with scheduling and facility use.
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes on personal development and college opportunities.
- Enforce all school policies and codes of conduct.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
