Job Summary

We are seeking adetail-oriented and analytical Bookkeeper to manage financial transactions and records for both a restaurant and retail clothing store. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting compliance and efficiency across two unique business operations.
The ideal candidate is precise thorough and committed to following processes but also able to think critically when issues arise investigate discrepancies and solve problems quickly and effectively. This role requires someone who can balance accuracy with efficiency and who takes ownership of ensuring that their tasks are both correct and complete.
What Youll Do:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledgers for both a restaurant and retail store
- Record daily sales vendor invoices expenses and payments with precision
- Reconcile bank accounts credit card accounts and POS system reports on schedule
- Identify and resolve discrepancies quickly applyingcritical thinkingto find root causes and prevent future issues
- Monitor cash handling tip reporting and deposit logs for accuracy and compliance
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections
- Prepare and file sales tax reports payroll tax records and other compliance-related filings
- Track inventory purchases and cost of goods sold (COGS) for both food/beverage and retail merchandise
- Generate monthly financial statements balance sheets and profit-and-loss reports for management review
- Follow established accounting procedures while applyingproblem-solving skillsto improve efficiency and accuracy
What Were Looking For:
- Proven accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Xero or similar) and POS system reporting
- Strong knowledge of reconciliations double-entry bookkeeping and financial reporting
- Experience with accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and sales tax preferred
- Exceptionalattention to detailwith the ability to spot and resolve discrepancies
- Strongproblem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to research and resolve issues independently
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
- Comfortable working within established policies while improving processes when needed
- Strong integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial information
