Job Summary
As a Heavy Equipment Operator this position requires strong operation skills adherence to safety regulations and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Your primary responsibility will be to operate a crane while supporting the overall operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operating a equipment to lift move and position metal materials within the facility
- Lifting and transporting metal materials using attachments such as magnets or grapples and safely place them in designated areas or processing equipment
- Experience with skid steer mobile crane excavator
- Loading and unloading trucks and containers ensuring proper weight distribution and load security
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with team members supervisors and other personnel
- Conducting pre and post inspections of the crane including overall crane maintenance
- You may be asked to operator the following heavy equipment: Crane Shear Loader
- During any down time you may be required to perform general yard maintenance assist the rail team and perform cleaning around the yard/department circle checks of machinery
Qualifications :
- Operator certification and/or experience is required
- Minimum of 1 years of experience operating in a heavy industrial setting
- Attention to detail and the ability to accurately position and handle different types of metal materials
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to crane operation and material handling
- Comfortable using various crane attachments such as magnets or grapples
- Familiarity with metal recycling processes materials and specifications is advantageous
- Must be comfortable working outdoors and in a heavy industrial environment
