Reports To:Associate Superintendent
Position Purpose: Greet district patrons both in person and by phone and direct them to the right person or department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Fluency in Spanish and English preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must have a pleasant voice; enunciating and speaking with proper grammar.
- Requires ability to answer multiple phone lines in a polite and informative manner; must be able to direct calls appropriately
- Requires ability to prioritize
- Dexterity to handle PBX-type switchboard
- Ability to type without error
- Familiarity with computer
- Good organizational skills
- Knowledge of variety of office equipment
- Good public relations skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to handle high volume of phone calls daily
- Requires ability to effectively interact with a widely diverse population.
- Requires ability to make decisions; problem solve and to provide sound judgement.
- Greet all visitors determine nature of business provide appropriate information and refer visitors to appropriate person or department in the district.
- Prepare purchase orders
Physical/Emotional Requirements:
(The incumbent may be required to use the below requirements during any part of the working day.)
Sedentary Work (Level I) This position may require exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. This position involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing.
Terms of Employment:
12 months; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.
Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of Classified Personnel

The performance responsibilities are not limited to those outlined in this description and may include any other responsibilities as assigned by the administrator/supervisor
