Join our team in the buildings sector as a Mechanical Project Engineer in our Dartmouth office. As part of a team recognized for its expertise you will participate in the HVAC Plumbing and Fire suppression system design of institutional residential and commercial projects etc. You will bring your technical knowledge and your professional experience to provide innovative solutions for our clients projects. Thanks to your experience and technical knowledge you will help develop innovative solutions to our clients addition you will contribute to CIMAs outreach in the Atlantic region.

As a key player in building mechanics projects you will contribute to the design of plans and models perform surveys and assist the engineering team in the realization of projects in the commercial industrial institutional and hospital sectors.

You will work in a dynamic environment as part of a team of engineers technicians and drafters on challenging projects. You will evolve within a passionate team in a context where initiative and trust are strongly encouraged. 

 

Primary responsibilities

  • Prepare proposal submissions including pricing agreements and/or response to RFPs.
  • Participate in the design of building mechanical systems (HVAC Plumbing Fire suppression).
  • Perform energy audits and building assessments for installed mechanical systems.
  • Follow up on each step of a project (field surveys and inspections technical reports plans and specifications work supervision)
  • Assisting the client during tender process and providing construction support and inspection services for building mechanical systems.
  • Project planning including design schedule and proposed construction schedules.
  • Prepare technical reports specifications and construction cost estimates.
  • Provide technical support to clients and ensure proper coordination with the various stakeholders (architects engineers contractors) throughout the project.

 


Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical building engineering or an equivalent
  • Hold a P. Eng certification from Engineers Nova Scotia
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical building system design (HVAC Plumbing Fire Suppression)
  • Working knowledge of Autocad and Revit software
  • Ability to work on different projects simultaneously
  • Fluency in oral and written English is a must (French is considered an asset).
  • Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle.
