Job Summary

Position Summary:

Methode Electronics is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the general ledger accounting operations of its US Shared Service Center including preparation of journal entries reconciliations footnote disclosures and financial statement fluctuation analysis. This role will be hands-on in preparing a variety of assignments related to the monthly quarterly and annual accounting close to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining compliance with internal policies U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control requirements. This role will work closely with corporate accounting internal audit and business unit leaders to obtain an understanding of business transaction flows and relationships across legal entities. You will also support the implementation of process improvements within the shared service environment. Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries account reconciliations accruals capitalize fixed assets and intercompany transactions to ensure accurate and complete legal entity reporting within the companys close timeline.
  • Execute month-end close tasks to ensure a timely close process.
  • Update the close checklists and account reconciliations during the close cycle to track timely completion and signoffs.
  • Provide data to support daily close reporting dashboards to management with close status along with any other pertinent updates.
  • Record weekly payroll journal entries and reconciling payroll-related accrual accounts.
  • Maintain and reconcile the corporate fixed asset subledger including tracking of aged construction in process (CIP) and tooling for timely capitalization.
  • Assist with monthly intercompany reconciliations for all global divisions.
  • Collaborate with global finance teams to obtain an understanding of business transaction flows and relationships across legal entities.
  • Assist with SEC reporting requirements (10-Q 10-K 8-K proxy etc.) by providing schedules analyses and footnote support.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit requests to ensure timely completion of quarterly reviews and the annual audit.
  • Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and ensure compliance with SOX 404 requirements.
  • Support the implementation of global accounting policies aligned with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulatory requirements.
  • Support month-end quarter-end and year-end variance analysis ensuring that all required periods are compared and that detailed explanations for the fluxes that meet internal thresholds are provided by agreed upon deadlines including following up as necessary for any late items.
  • Support consistent standards and operational excellence in the US and corporate accounting operations.
  • Be a team player and ensure strong communication across the accounting team and other departments with a collaborative approach to resolving matters.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives such as system implementations process improvements and implementation of new accounting standards.
  • May supervise and guide staff accountants.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related field.
  • 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Big 4 public accounting Firm experience working with multinational publicly traded companies preferred.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP SOX/internal controls and financial close processes.
  • Solid understanding of intercompany accounting and U.S. legal entity relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate across functions and regions.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to receive coaching and actively apply it to improve and refine skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft office applications specifically Excel (pivot tables and vlookups) and Word; previous experience with CMS and OneStream a plus.

The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $80750- 95000

This position is eligible to participate in an incentive and level of participation are determined annually.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location job-related knowledge skills and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
