Public Health Seattle & King Countys (PHSKC) Health Care for the Homeless Network (HCHN) Street Medicine Team is hiring a Daily Operations Support Specialist (Project/Program Manager I) to join our team. We are seeking qualified candidates who are self-directed creative flexible and skilled in field operations and registration support as well as being committed to an anti-racist and harm reduction practice.

This posting will create a list of qualified candidates that may be considered for selection of additional vacancies of the same position type over the next 6 months.

Position Summary

This position reports to the Operations Analyst providing expertise in remote patient registration insurance screenings and enrollment referral facilitation and fielding calls to support the field team and operations. This position will also be responsible for maintaining 78 vehicles including transit vans adapted for clinical use safety and daily operations such as insurance enrollment referrals and scheduling. It requires a subject matter expert in mobile health service vehicles to maintain operational workflows and manuals for a hybrid Street Medicine model. Responsibilities include evaluating and updating safety procedures to align with broader organizational practices facilitating a Street Medicine Safety Committee ensuring compliance with Community Health Services (CHS) and PHSKC regulations and revising policies.

The Street Medicine Team seeks out and brings medical behavioral health care and social services directly to people living outside. The team aims to engage people in health education professional and peer support and treatment for their medical and behavioral health conditions via a trauma-informed antiracist and harm reduction approach.

CHS is the largest of 7 divisions in Public Health Seattle & King County with over 500 employees and deliver a variety of health services through the programs partnerships and Public Health Centers they operate.

Monday-Thursday between the hours of 7am-6pm Friday hours are negotiable. This position is designated as hourly/non-exempt under the regulations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) which means it is overtime eligible. You must receive prior approval from your supervisor before working any necessary overtime hours to meet your position responsibilities.

Job Duties

  • Provide support and remote patient registration to all field teams.
  • Conduct insurance screenings and enrollment.
  • Facilitate referrals and manage calls on the Street Medicine direct phone line.
  • Maintain Access Navigator credentials.
  • Serve as the lead for fleet operations for the Street Medicine Team.
  • Maintain workflows for daily vehicle stocking cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Under the guidance of the Operations Analyst serve as an operations liaison and program consultant aid in funder reporting and facilitate ongoing check-ins with partner sites.
  • Complete the revision of update and maintain the Street Medicine safety manual to ensure relevance and compliance with divisional departmental and funder policies.
  • Facilitate internal safety committee meetings.
  • Organize quarterly safety drills under guidance of Street Medicine leadership.
  • Assist with purchasing and inventory management.
  • Oversee scheduling and request float coverage as needed.
  • Respond to unexpected team needs during clinic shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills

Our ideal candidate willdemonstratethe following(Minimum Qualifications):

  • Experience with patient registration and insurance screening and enrollment.
  • Proven experience caring for and ensuring maintenance of vehicles outfitted for clinical use.
  • Demonstrated experience directly supporting field based medical teams and their daily operations.
  • Experience creating workflows and tools to support daily operations and/or team safety.
  • Experience with inventory management.
The most competitive applicants will have the following experiences and qualifications(Desired):
  • Experience supporting homeless services/homeless outreach teams.
  • Familiarity with Street Medicine models and associated best practices.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Experience with Epic.
