Technical Consultant- NGA

Overview

The NGA department within Professional Services is seeking a Technical Consultant to to define and implement ArcGIS solutions. This position plays an important part in leading and providing strategic direction during all phases of ArcGIS implementation for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. As a Technical Consultant you will work with and advise customers on innovative and creative solutions to help them make better business decision and understand the value of location intelligence. This department is known for providing best practices and vision for applying spatial technology in the DoD/IC space. Responsibilities

• Work closely with customers and partners to identify design and certify key GIS workflows for the ArcGIS platform
• Provide platform configuration guidance and best practices to customers regarding innovative solutions using Esri technology and content to help them make better decisions
• Identify the value of location within customer workflows and drive substantial return on their investment in Esris enterprise platform and services
• Recommend relevant strategies architectures and solutions and work with customers to prepare implementation and migration strategies
• Present complex GIS technical demonstrations to various levels of staff in a diverse range of customer organizations
• Collaborate with customer IT organizations to align their technical objectives and business goals with Esris technology enterprise

Requirements

• 5 years of professional experience in a similar position supporting similar responsibilities
• Professional experience designing implementing and/or administrating enterprise GIS solutions/systems that leverage the ArcGIS platform (Desktop Server and Online)
• Proven experience leveraging Esris software capabilities including mapping field operations spatial analysis and data science 3D visualization and analytics data management and developer APIs
• Pro-actively craft and propose solutions that clarify how GIS brings business value to address critical business challenges faced by customers specifically in the Intelligence domain
• Proven experience with GIS workflow automation patterns
• Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas whether to other technical peers or non-technical peers project managers and/or customers
• Exceptional interpersonal written/verbal communication multi-tasking and presentation skills
• US citizenship and willingness and ability to maintain a US Security Clearance
• Bachelors in geography computer science mathematics Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or STEM related field

Recommended Qualifications

• Masters in geography computer science mathematics Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or STEM related field
• Programming and scripting experience with Python
• Domain experience around Defense and Intelligence content workflows
• Experience with current technology implementation patterns including service-oriented and cloud computing architecture
• Understanding of IT integration concepts such as databases web services webhooks mobile devices configurations web browsers IT system architecture concepts
