Qualifications:
Ability to follow established procedures and take directions from supervisor
Experience in maintenance and custodial procedures
Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
Capable of using all types of Operations equipment with or without supervision
Physically able to lift transport and position 50 pounds
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Ability to work various shifts and various locations within school district
Ability to maintain emotional stability
Ability to comprehend basic operating instructions
Ability to read and write English
Demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of tasks as assigned
Ability to work efficiently while unsupervised
Primary Purpose:
Maintain physical facilities in a condition of operating excellence cleanliness and safety so that full educational use of the buildings can be accomplished at all times to provide students and employees an attractive comfortable efficient place in which to learn work play and develop.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for cleaning entire facility to Katy ISD standards (includes restrooms vacuuming dusting windows spot cleaning waxing buffing etc.).
- Fill dispensers with towels soap and toilet tissue.
- Remove trash paper and garbage from building to designated area.
- Maintain grounds including sidewalks driveways parking lots and play areas.
- Set up chairs and tables daily in the cafeteria and as needed for events.
- Replace light bulbs as required.
- Perform limited minor maintenance.
- Know location and how to use all fire extinguishers.
- Report to building administrator any unauthorized people in building.
- May be required to work weekend and/or after hour events.
- Follow established procedures for locking checking and safeguarding facility including turning off lights.
- Responsible for keys assigned to the building.
- Report need for repairs and any damage found to the building administrator.
- Assume additional duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
Buffer automatic floor scrubber carpet extractor wet and dry vacuum burnisher electric drill hand tools mop dust-mop chair dolly two-way communication device computer washer and dryer.
Working Conditions:
Frequent walking standing heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and inside on slippery or uneven walking surfaces. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures dust toxic chemicals materials and bodily fluids. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. Frequently positions self to gain access to tight spaces and low areas.
