About the opportunity
The Manager Networks provides institutional leadership of the Universitys enterprise network function ensuring that critical connectivity and infrastructure services are robust secure and future-ready. This role sets the strategic direction for network and IT facilities infrastructure balancing risk innovation and cost-effectiveness to support all aspects of University operations and campus modernisation.
The position oversees the design delivery and lifecycle management of enterprise network services including LAN WAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure as well as coordination of IT facilities operations such as data centres and node rooms. The incumbent will work closely with Campus Services Cybersecurity and other ITS teams to ensure that physical and network infrastructure aligns with institutional goals and compliance requirements.
The role requires strong leadership strategic planning and vendor management capabilities coupled with a deep understanding of enterprise networking and infrastructure operations. The Manager Networks will guide the team to deliver resilient high-performing and scalable network services that underpin teaching research and administrative functions across all University campuses.
What youll do:
- Define and oversee the Universitys enterprise network and IT facilities roadmap.
- Ensure the reliability security and performance of core network infrastructure and data centre environments.
- Provide clear direction and active leadership to the Networks team.
- Achieve the Universitys IT delivery strategic priorities across capital works programs campus planning initiatives relocations business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Foster strong relationships and collaboration to ensure network and facilities services align with objectives and best-practice security controls.
What were looking for:
- A relevant degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience in IT infrastructure or security management.
- Proven experience leading enterprise network infrastructure and operations in a large or complex organisation.
- In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure including LAN/WAN wireless networks and data centre networking.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and their application to network and facilities management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills including the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Ability to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances where applicable.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 9 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $160613 comprising base salary within the range of $130242 to $137276 plus 17% superannuation.
