Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced EBOP Package Manager to lead the development and preparation of all electrical infrastructure supporting the main plant facilities for Financial Investment Decision (FID) and ongoing management through execution and commissioning phases.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for full commercial technical and strategic accountability for electrical works development including electrical reticulation Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) overhead transmission lines substations protection systems PLC/SCADA and associated electrical infrastructure. This role requires strong project management skills contract documentation preparation vendor relationship management electrical engineering expertise and commissioning leadership capabilities.

This role can be based at any of SQEs East Coast offices and will require travel to project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the Electrical Balance of Plant package to FID-ready status including scope definition cost estimation execution strategy procurement and risk assessment.
  • Coordinate with the Asset Development Director and Project Director on overall project strategy and FID preparation activities.
  • Develop procurement contracting and execution strategies that provide cost certainty and execution confidence.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications Australian standards regulatory requirements and FID technical criteria.
  • Lead procurement processes including tendering contractor selection and commercial framework establishment.
  • Manage package scope development and optimization through value engineering and stakeholder consultation.
  • Oversee design and development of electrical system architectures including single line diagrams protection schemes and BESS integration designs.
  • Develop comprehensive commissioning strategies and procedures.
  • Support the Grid and Electrical Engineering team across technical development and design optimization.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with electrical balance of plant systems including substations overhead lines electrical reticulation and protection systems.
  • Experience in BESS construction and commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical standards grid codes and electrical safety requirements.
  • Experience with electrical procurement including transformers switchgear protection systems and monitoring equipment.
  • Proven track record in Project Management from concept through to FID.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and cost estimation tools.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering Project Management or a related field.
  • Project Management Accreditation.
  • Masters degree in Engineering Management Renewable Energy or Project Management (desirable).
  • Drivers Licence.
