Job Summary
A high-achieving secondary school in Northampton is looking for a skilled and practical Design & Technology Technician to join its thriving DT department from January 2026.
The Role
Youll support teachers and students in delivering engaging safe and creative practical lessons across Resistant Materials Graphics and Product Design. The role involves maintaining tools and machinery preparing materials and ensuring the workshop runs smoothly and safely.
The Department
DT is a popular and well-resourced subject area within the school with modern workshops CAD/CAM equipment 3D printers and laser cutters. Youll be part of a professional welcoming team that values innovation and student creativity.
Responsibilities
- Preparing materials tools and equipment for practical lessons.
- Maintaining and repairing workshop machinery and tools.
- Assisting in demonstrations and supporting students during projects.
- Managing stock ordering supplies and ensuring safe working conditions.
- Supporting school exhibitions and project showcases.
About You
- Practical background in DT engineering or workshop-based work.
- Strong understanding of health and safety standards.
- Team player with excellent organisation and communication skills.
