The Opportunity
Join a small independent planning consultancy based just outside Sheffield (Peak District) working across a varied portfolio of urban and rural projects. Around half of the workload is Central London schemes (major estates and inner-London boroughs); the rest is Sheffield / Peak District. Youll have genuine autonomy close client contact and the flexibility to balance work with life.
What youll do
Manage your own caseload of smallmedium planning applications (urban & rural).
Advise clients and liaise confidently with LPAs / case officers.
Prepare reports submissions and coordinate consultants.
Build trusted relationships in a close-knit supportive team.
Work transparently (including basic timesheets) when remote.
What were looking for
24 years town planning experience (public or private sector).
Confident running applications end-to-end and communicating with stakeholders.
Organised diligent autonomous; comfortable in a small-team environment.
MRTPI (chartered) or working towards strongly preferred (not essential).
Strong written/verbal skills and a collaborative mindset.
Working pattern & location
Hybrid: 2 office days per week (20 mins from West Sheffield by road/train).
35 days per week considered (role ideally condensed hours into 4 days).
Flexible hours (e.g. condensed days / around childcare).
Occasional London meetings (many are virtual).
