DescriptionDr. Sumru Atuk (Politics) seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented undergraduate student to serve as a Research Assistant. The student will contribute to a faculty research project in feminist political theory social movements and gender-based violence with a focus on preparing a scholarly book manuscript for publication. This position offers hands-on experience with academic research writing and publication processes.
- Assist with the preparation of a scholarly book manuscript for publication.
- Conduct reference checking and ensure citation accuracy and consistency.
- Perform brief targeted research on relevant scholarly literature policy documents or historical materials.
- Help organize bibliographic materials.
- Attend and participate in regular project meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Junior or senior undergraduate student majoring in Politics.
- Either a Womens Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS)major or minor orcompletion of coursework in WGSS.
- Familiarity with social movements literature and practice.
- In good academic standing and able to demonstrate the ability to manage independent research tasks.
- Strong reading writing and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Previous experience with academic research or as a research assistant.
- Familiarity with citation management tools (e.g. Zotero EndNote).
- Strong interest in feminist theory critical theory and/or gender and politics.
Pay Rate: $15.50
