Leidos Defense Systems Mission Assurance is seeking a Quality Control Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for implementing a Quality Control system that promotes customer satisfaction and supports all manufacturing operations product approvals (FAI) supplier part approvals continuous improvement and defect reduction initiatives.
Youll lead a diverse team of Quality Engineers and Inspectors manage quality activities across multiple business areas and report directly to the Sr. Quality Manager of Defense Sector Mission Assurance. Occasional travel will be required for in-person engagements with customers and suppliers across Leidos sites.

Primary Responsibilities
Serve as the primary quality control authority for problem identification resolution loss reporting and continuous improvement.
Manage Quality Engineers and quality control personnel on a day-to-day basis.
Plan staffing needs based on manufacturing requirements and delegate activities to Quality Engineers Technicians and Inspectors.
Establish and implement metrics (process capability control charts measurement quality) to monitor Quality Control system effectiveness.
Lead root-cause analyses and other problem-solving activities to identify corrective actions and process improvements.
Establish data collection and analysis systems to predict quality trends.
Develop quality planning methods for all product lines.
Collaborate with customers to identify improvement opportunities.
Initiate and implement quality improvement activities (e.g. Kaizen Six Sigma).
Report on quality issues trends and losses.
Participate in internal and external quality audits.
Work with DCMA and other government/customer QA organizations.
Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Perform all other reasonable duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree 5 years of relevant experience or Masters degree 3 years.
In lieu of a degree 15 years of direct experience in aviation programs supporting defense contracts may be substituted.
Experience with systems implementation and/or management in a manufacturing or product-based environment.
In-depth knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 requirements.
Experience reviewing contracts and ensuring compliance.
Ability to review and provide quality control input to aviation program manuals forms and records.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience leading large teams of quality professionals.
Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance.
Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the HuntsvilleNorth Alabama area.
