Nature of Work The Director of Midwifery & Womens Health Faculty Practices provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for midwifery and womens health services across the Colorado Front Range. This role is responsible for directing a team of clinical practice leads fostering excellence in clinical care and ensuring alignment with institutional goals and community needs. Key responsibilities include strategic planning clinical service development performance management regulatory compliance and cultivating a collaborative and inclusive clinical practice culture. The Director works in close partnership with the Office of Clinical and Community Affairs contributing to programmatic and operational initiatives that advance clinical excellence and community engagement. Supervision Required This position is supervised by the Associate Dean for Clinical and Community Affairs. Supervision Exercised Supervises the midwifery and womens health clinical practice leads. Supports a large clinical practice faculty team who practice in the midwifery or womens health practices/sites. Work Performed Serves as a strategic liaison between clinic staff and the Associate Dean of Clinical and Community Affairs to ensure alignment of clinical operations and patient care goals. Partners with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate and apply key performance indicators driving innovative cost-effective improvements in clinical practice. Contributes to programmatic development by formulating and implementing evidence-based health policies protocols and procedures. Ensures adherence to safety environmental and infection control standards across clinical sites. Leads continuous quality improvement initiatives focused on clinical excellence operational efficiency financial stewardship and patient safety. Coordinates and facilitates educational opportunities to support regulatory compliance and clinical competency. Oversees clinical workflows and engages teams in performance improvement activities to enhance care delivery. Supports and manages the clinical peer review process and annual evaluations in collaboration with CU Nursing teams. Provides individualized mentorship and support to clinical practice faculty. Ensures compliance with University College and professional standards policies and procedures. Participates in faculty and staff recruitment processes to support clinical growth and excellence. Represents the clinic in leadership and governance meetings advocating for operational and strategic priorities. Acts as a liaison between the clinic and patients collaborating providers community stakeholders and external partners. Facilitates monthly faculty meetings to promote communication collaboration and shared decision-making. Collaborates with the Medical Staff Office College of Nursing Credentialing Committee and CU Credentialing Committee to ensure provider credentialing and privileging. Serves as a professional role model and thought leader fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Manages clinical resources responsibly aligning with institutional and practice-level fiscal goals. Demonstrates expertise in patient documentation compliance and billing practices to support operational integrity. Actively contributes to the advancement of the organizations strategic plan and mission. | |

To see what benefits are available please visit: Qualifications: Doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited institution of higher education. Current American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) certification. Current RN APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State) or applicable certified midwife professional license. o Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have Colorado licensures by date of hire. Minimum of Four (4) years of full-scope midwifery experience including experience in antepartum intrapartum postpartum well-woman and gynecologic care. Four (4) years of progressive leadership experience in midwifery and/or womens health practice settings including fiscal management and supervisory experience. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in developing and implementing clinical protocols policies procedures and patient consent to support high-quality compliant care delivery. Experience in clinical practice and program development including strategic expansion and innovation in service offerings. Experience managing large interdisciplinary teams Experience engaging in professional organizations (e.g. American College of Nurse-Midwives ACNM) and experience contributing to the advancement of clinical practice standards and advocacy efforts. Experience in leading quality improvement initiatives or conducting program evaluations. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates independent judgment and the ability to prioritize work effectively in response to evolving healthcare trends and service line needs. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with faculty practice leadership and interdisciplinary collaborators. Exhibits clear concise and effective communication skills both verbal and written across diverse audiences. Anticipated Pay Range: | The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $103338-$112906. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level. In addition to the annual salary for this position an annual administrative stipend of $10000/year will also be offered. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
