About the team

Our Housing Operations Team is the frontline of YWCA Australia and YWCA Housing playing a key role in supporting residents and sustaining tenancies. Through efficient administration and proactive engagement the team helps ensure residents maintain stable secure housing.

About the role

As a Community Housing Officer youll play a key role in maintaining tenancy systems supporting residents through regular visits and advice and managing tenancy and maintenance issues in line with the Residential Tenancies Actall within a collaborative team environment.

In this role you will:

  • Work across a broad housing portfolio supporting vulnerable women and gender diverse people through tenancy management maintenance coordination and resident engagement.
  • Conduct regular home visits mediate housing issues assist potential residents and support property maintenance
  • Represent YWCA at tribunal hearings and provide residents with access to policy guidance and referrals to external support services.
  • Work closely with asset management and housing teams to deliver high-quality housing outcomes.
  • Manage specialised Rooming Houses whilst ensuring compliance with tenancy legislation.

About you

As the ideal applicant will have:

  • Experience in community housing or property management with knowledge of tenancy practices RTA legislation maintenance coordination and administrative processes.
  • Strong understanding of the relevant state Residential Tenancies Act.
  • Ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities with awareness of homelessness issues.
  • Proficiency in tenancy data systems (e.g. Zavanti Excel) and Microsoft Office.
  • Well-developed communication mediation and conflict resolution skills with strong organisational abilities.
