Gregory Construction an industry-recognized and award-winning provider of construction services is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in Columbus MS. Our work focuses on mission critical facilities (such as data centers) civil infrastructure and underground utility projects with a proven track record of delivering complex high-quality construction solutions for universities municipalities the Department of Transportation and industrial partners.
As an Estimator you will play a critical role in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates that drive project success. This position is ideal for a professional with significant estimating experience in heavy civil mission critical or utility construction who thrives in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare complete quantity take-offs analysis and estimates for assigned scopes of work.
Develop detailed estimates for trades building systems and overall project costs.
Obtain and evaluate subcontractor proposals ensuring scope coverage and minimizing risk.
Collaborate with project managers and field teams to align estimates with project execution.
Supervise and mentor Assistant Estimators Estimating Assistants and/or Interns as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in construction (heavy civil mission critical or utility work strongly preferred).
Bachelors degree in construction engineering or related field; or equivalent education/training.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and standard estimating software.
Ability to read interpret and analyze contract documents drawings specifications and schedules.
Demonstrated leadership collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Some travel required.
