POSITION SUMMARY:
ADDMAN Engineering is seeking a highly organized and results-driven Master Scheduler to join our Precision Metals division. This key role is responsible for developing coordinating and maintaining the master production schedule (MPS) to ensure optimal material flow resource utilization and on-time delivery to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal machining and precision manufacturing and be capable of working cross-functionally with production supply chain quality and engineering teams to drive efficiency and accountability.
- Production Planning
- Create and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) across all precision metals operations based on customer demand forecast inventory levels and production capacity.
- Ensure alignment between demand planning material availability labor capacity and production constraints.
- Balance make-to-stock and make-to-order schedules to optimize output and meet customer commitments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations purchasing engineering and quality teams to validate schedules and resolve potential conflicts or delays.
- Serve as the liaison between sales/customer service and manufacturing to communicate lead times and delivery forecasts.
- Scheduling Systems & Reporting
- Maintain the scheduling module within the ERP system
- Monitor work orders routings and labor reports to ensure accurate status tracking and schedule adherence.
- Provide regular updates on schedule performance delivery risks and recovery plans to senior leadership.
- Continuous Improvement
- Analyze bottlenecks lead times and capacity utilization for improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to process improvement projects such as lead time reduction setup optimization and improved flow of materials.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Operations Industrial Engineering or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person citizenship status.
- Experience:
- 5-7 years of scheduling planning or production control experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in precision machining or metal manufacturing.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel (pivot tables formulas etc.).
- Experience in job shop or high-mix low-volume environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing kanban and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration across multiple departments and shifts.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and react quickly to production changes.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies industry regulations and ethical standards.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This is an office position that may require sporadic visits to the production floor to communicate with team members on an as needed basis.
- Onsite Position in Glen Burnie MD
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Sit or stand as needed.
- Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
