Who we are looking for:

Are you the Relief Therapeutic Counselor we have been looking for In this position you will be able to convey your passion for helping others by working with our youth! Total Achievement Program (TAP) is a therapeutic after-school and summer program for youth ages 6 to 12 years old. TAP staff work closely with the youths families schools and community agency providers to support each clients success as part of a comprehensive treatment team.

Location:

We have TAP locations in Norton Plymouth Fall River New Bedford and Yarmouth Port. We are looking for a flexible Therapeutic Counselor to work at our various locations. How often you work and which locations you choose is totally up to you!

Compensation:

The pay for this position is $20.00 per hour. This reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience education licensure certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

JRI provides the training so that:

  • YOU will be able to develop your skills in providing enriching daily activities for our students such as arts and crafts homework assistance recreational activities including offsite field trips and more!
  • YOU will be able to create a safe and therapeutic community by working with youth to build positive peer relationships manage behaviors in group settings and develop effective coping strategies.
  • YOU will work as a member of a treatment team that provides group counseling works with youth to set goals and collaborates with youths support systems to develop treatment plans.
  • YOU will help youth discover what makes them feel competent and valued by supporting them in developing the social skills necessary to function at home and in the community. Your day-to-day work will support youth in developing a sense of self and provide them the skills to be successful in their next steps.

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Candidates who have experience working with latency age children or experience in behavior modification are preferred but JRI is willing to train those skills!
  • Maintains valid drivers license and appropriate driving record as transporting youth is required.
  • At JRI you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our youth!
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
