About the Role
Were looking for a Unity Technical Lead (Client) to join a small high-performing team developing new growth initiative within Playtika
As the technical lead on the client side youll guide implementation help shape the initiative technical direction and collaborate closely with the game architect designers and artists to build innovative scalable systems. Youll be deeply hands-on setting best practices mentoring other developers and driving technical excellence across all Unity development efforts.
What Youll Do
- Lead client-side Unity development and mentor a small team of engineers.
- Design and implement gameplay systems UI and tools using C#.
- Collaborate with the architect to define scalable maintainable solutions.
- Ensure code quality performance and reliability across platforms.
- Work with designers artists and Tech Artists to deliver high-quality player experiences.
- Integrate third-party SDKs (analytics LiveOps monetization etc.).
- Drive profiling debugging and optimization efforts to ensure smooth performance.
- Support technical planning estimation and decision-making for new features.
- Stay current with Unity updates tools and best practices and champion their use within the team.
What Were Looking For
- 4 years of experience developing games with Unity and C#.
- Proven experience delivering production-ready mobile or live games.
- Strong understanding of Unity systems: scene management animations UI addressables and async workflows.
- Skilled in performance optimization including profiling and debugging (CPU/GPU/memory).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills - able to collaborate across disciplines.
- Hands-on problem solver who thrives in a dynamic startup-like environment.
- Experience designing and integrating backend APIs with understanding of server logic data contracts and cross-team collaboration.
- Ability to work with product and design teams to shape requirements into scalable maintainable features.
- Experience conducting code reviews mentoring and helping to structure a small engineering sub-team.
- Proven ability to introduce process or tooling improvements (editor tools automation AI-assisted workflows DSLs).
- Broad technical background and familiarity with other game engines (e.g. Unreal Godot) or backend technologies.
Nice to Have
- Experience developing or optimizing shaders and rendering systems.
- Experience building or extending Unity Editor tools and pipelines.
- Prior experience in early-stage or incubation teams.
- Background in native (iOS/Android/C) or backend development.
- Experience building games from scratch including early technical design and infrastructure setup.
- Experience improving or redefining development processes.
