Program Summary
The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned coordinated and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.
Job Summary:
Plans organizes and leads day to day activities of one or more departmental or functional activities. Responsible for equipment readiness electrical maintenance group work assignments inventory and control of electrical maintenance assets and provides technical guidance/assistance on all matters relating to Light Amphibious Recovery Craft (LARC) Navy small craft and lighterage maintenance. Conducts detailed planning scheduling and coordination of corrective and preventative maintenance on U.S. Navy small craft and lighterage; supervises complex duties involving the assembly fabrication troubleshooting testing repair overhaul modification and general maintenance of electrical equipment or components. Determines sequence and assignment of work on basis of work priority scheduled milestones and quantity of equipment to obtain optimal use of equipment facilities and employees. Develops standard work procedures and detailed work instructions for maintenance and inspection processes in accordance with NAVSEA standards and government statement of work. Performs responsibilities as a competent person in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR Standard 1915 for confined spaces. Maintains and ensure compliance with ISO-9001 and ISO 14001 procedures and work instructions administrative policies and government regulations. Ensures employees are properly trained in all maintenance functions. Conducts quality control of work to ensure compliance with specifications and time schedules. Interprets specifications drawing work orders technical instructions and layouts. Ensures employees adhere to all safety requirements procedures and policies. Supervises the requisitioning receipt and allocation of tools parts and material. Recommends or initiates personnel actions such as promotions transfers discharges and disciplinary actions. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- AA Degree/or course work towards a BS degree in electrical or engineering related lieu of degree a combination of college credits or other formalized training and education may be considered.
- Completed U.S. Navy or Coast Guard basic level A and advanced level C schools for Electricians Mate or equivalent is preferred.
- Ten (10) years of directly related work experience in corrective and preventative maintenance control and scheduling processes utilizing computer software or systems.
- Eight (8) years of supervisory experience in equipment maintenance.
- Possess in-depth working knowledge of Navy Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) and Engineering Operational Sequencing System (EOSS).
- Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and circuits relative to marine equipment and power generating systems.
- Ability to read and interpret symbols layout sheets diagrams schematics technical orders and principles to isolate repair or replace faulty components.
- Must possess the ability to safely utilize ladders work at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to comply with all established methods quality standards and time schedules applicable to this position.
- Have strong written and communication skills. Have intermediate level working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; Outlook Word Power Point Excel.
- Must have a current security clearance or be able to obtain a security clearance to access government websites.
- U.S. Citizen.
