About the Role:
The Pre-Owned Sales Manager at Jack Schmitt Ford Inc is responsible for overseeing and managing the Used Car (UC) department to ensure optimal inventory levels pricing strategies and sales performance. This role requires a strategic approach to sourcing merchandising and selling pre-owned vehicles while maintaining high customer satisfaction and profitability. The Pre-Owned Sales Manager will lead a team of sales professionals coordinate with other dealership departments and implement marketing initiatives to drive used car sales growth. They will analyze market trends and customer preferences to make informed decisions that align with the dealerships goals. Ultimately the Pre-Owned Sales Manager plays a critical role in maximizing the dealerships used vehicle revenue and enhancing the overall customer experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience and a track record of success in used car sales management or a related automotive retail role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive industry standards used car valuation and inventory management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills to interact with customers vendors and internal teams.
- Proficiency in dealership management software and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Marketing or a related field.
- Experience working in a Ford dealership or familiarity with Ford brand vehicles and programs.
- Certification in automotive sales or management from recognized industry organizations.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing marketing campaigns for automotive sales.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the Used Car department including inventory acquisition pricing and merchandising.
- Lead train and motivate the used car sales team to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote used vehicle sales and increase dealership visibility.
- Analyze market trends competitor activity and customer feedback to optimize inventory and pricing decisions.
- Collaborate with finance service and new car departments to ensure seamless customer transactions and maximize profitability.
