A leading UK and Ireland planning consultancy is seeking a commercially minded Associate Director (Town Planning) to help lead and grow its expanding Scottish practice. With a strong pipeline of major development infrastructure and energy projects this is an opportunity to combine hands-on project delivery with leadership client management and strategic business growth.
The Role
This senior position offers scope to take ownership of complex planning projects while shaping the consultancys presence across Scotland. Youll work closely with clients manage multidisciplinary teams and play a key role in driving business development and strategic direction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading major planning applications strategies and appeals
- Supporting large-scale development and infrastructure projects
- Developing new business opportunities and contributing to bids and tenders
- Building lasting relationships with clients local authorities and key stakeholders
- Mentoring and developing junior planners
- Working collaboratively with in-house communications specialists on engagement and consultation activities
About the Consultancy:

What Youll Need:
- MRTPI chartered status
- Extensive UK planning experience including knowledge of Scottish planning systems
- A proven ability to develop business and grow client accounts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence working both autonomously and as part of a leadership team
- A proactive commercially aware and collaborative mindset
