This exceptional independent co-educational school in Bristol educates around 1000 pupils aged 1118 and is recognised nationally for its strong academic and co-curricular balance. The school achieved 89% grades 97 at GCSE and 76% AB at A-Level in 2024 with an outstanding record of sporting excellence at county regional and national level.
The Physical Education Department consists of eight specialist teachers and coaches offering an extensive range of sports including rugby hockey athletics swimming tennis and netball. The schools facilities include an indoor sports complex fully equipped fitness suite all-weather pitches and athletics tracks. Students frequently represent the school in national tournaments and have achieved over 40 regional titles in the past three years.
PE is a popular option at both GCSE and A-Level where the department consistently achieves top results in 2024 83% of GCSE students achieved grades 97 and A-Level students achieved 70% AB. The department also leads Duke of Edinburgh programmes sports leadership pathways and overseas sports tours providing a rich and varied experience for both teachers and pupils.
Requirements
Applications are welcome from teachers at any stage of their career including ECTs. Both UK-trained and overseas-qualified PE Teachers will be considered. All applicants should hold QTS or an equivalent secondary school teaching qualification.
Salary
The salary for this PE Teacher position will be paid to scale on a direct contract (MPS/UPS) in line with the schools independent pay policy. A TLR may be available for candidates with coaching or leadership experience.
