PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The procurement Administrator Intern will support the procurement team in sourcing purchasing and coordinating the supply of raw materials components and consumables required for manufacturing operations.
The key responsibilities of the position are as follows but not limited to:
- Assist with sourcing and comparing supplier quotations.
- Create and manage purchase orders in the ERP system.
- Support supplier communication performance tracking and evaluations.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and ensure compliance.
- Contribute to spend analysis and procurement reporting.
- Participate in process improvement and sustainability initiatives.
- Help identify supply chain risks and support mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve logistics and supply issues.
- Provide admin support for special projects and procurement tasks.
To be considered for this role under the Yes4Youth Learnership program the following requirements are non-negotiable:
- Must be unemployed at the time of contracting.
- Must be between the ages of 18 34.
- Must meet the definition of Black People as defined in the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act 53 of 2003 as amended.
- Must not have previously participated in a Yes4Youth program.
MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Procurement Business Administration or a related field
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 1 years or less relevant experience in a similar role (internship or learnership experience will be considered).
KNOWLEDGE SKILL & ABILITIES:
- MS Office (Outlook/ Project / Word / Excel / PowerPoint/SharePoint).
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills is a prerequisite
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with ERP - Sage is a plus
- Must be able to handle pressurised situations. Time management skills to meet required deadlines. (essential).
- Business etiquette and professional conduct is essential.
