Job Summary

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals Nursing Homes Home care and Community care.


We are hiring Medical Scientist - Microbiology into a Hospital in Dublin Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in writing maintaining and enforcing laboratory procedures and protocols for all areas of testing and equipment.
  • Implement and maintain best-practice operational standards to optimise workflow resource utilisation and service efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of a patient-centred quality management programme including performance audits and client satisfaction monitoring.
  • Perform scientific work in compliance with INAB ISO 15189:2022 and JCI accreditation standards ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Manage laboratory stocks document and investigate non-conformances equipment defects and complaints reporting findings to management.
  • Collaborate with medical and scientific staff on research projects and contribute to the introduction of new technologies and methods.
  • Participate in the training and development of laboratory staff fostering professionalism communication and teamwork within the department.
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies and legislation (Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act) and assist in accident prevention and management procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and use of laboratory information systems and assist in compiling data on departmental activity staffing and expenditure.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in regular performance reviews adapting to evolving duties and service needs.


Requirements

  • CORU registration as a Medical Scientist
  • Minimum of 1 year in-service training across all disciplines.
  • Experience in Microbiology.
  • Post-qualification experience.
  • Coordinate with laboratory management and other hospital departments to ensure the delivery of an effective and appropriate laboratory service.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a professional and dedicated attitude.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to the rapid changes occurring within the health services.

Required Skills:

Required Education:

Hold a recognised degree in Medical Science or an equivalent qualification validated by the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM).Be registered or eligible for registration with CORU as a Medical evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
