Position Summary
The Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation ( MMI ) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center ( UNMC ) is accepting applications for a Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist at open faculty rank (Rank DOQ ). This position will provide outpatient comprehensive psychiatric evaluations diagnosis and treatment to individuals with autism spectrum disorder other intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as neurotypical individuals at Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation. The psychiatrist will help individuals manage their mental health conditions and improve their overall well-being. Practice Responsibilities:Conducts thorough psychiatric assessments to diagnose mental health personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings and clinical judgment and modifies them as needed to meet changing patient evidence-based therapeutic interventions and regular follow-up appointments to assess patient and manages psychotropic medications as medication efficacy and side effects making adjustments as patients and caregivers about their medications potential side effects risks and with therapists and psychologists to offer comprehensive crisis intervention and emergency consultations as higher levels of care when accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare and MMI with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient with other healthcare providers and specialists as needed for co-occurring medical current with developments in the field of psychiatry by participating in continuing education attending conferences and reading research in education research or other scholarly activity as a member of an academic medical center. Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Strong diagnostic and clinical of psychiatric principles child and adolescent development individual and group therapy and behavior modification communication and interpersonal and a family-centered approach to to work collaboratively in a team-based environment. Required Qualifications
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school. Board certification or board eligible in child and adolescent psychiatry. Eligible for state medical license to practice psychiatry in the state of Nebraska. Current DEA certificate. Current Basic Life Support ( BLS ) through the American Heart Association.
