What youll do
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Appian Solution Architect to lead the design development and implementation of Business Process Management (BPM) solutionsprimarily on the Appian platformand to contribute across the full technology stack within diverse ecosystems.
Your mission will be to:
- Design scalable and maintainable architectures using Appian BPM Define Application framework integration strategies and reusable components Lead architectural reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise standards
- Design and manage data infrastructure while also developing and maintaining data models that ensure data is organized accessible and usable across systems
- Evaluate emerging technologies guide technology adoption and shape long-term IT strategy to support business growth and digital transformation
- Work closely with developers engineers business leaders and clients to translate business needs into technical solutions and ensure cohesive implementation
Heres how
- Solution Architecture:
- Design scalable and maintainable architectures using Appian BPM
- Define application frameworks integration strategies and reusable components
- Lead architectural reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise standards
- Project Involvements:
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Lead end-to-end Appian implementations from concept to deployment
- Estimate timelines effort and risks for solutions
- Technical Leadership:
- Collaborate with Architects & Developers to establish the technical vision for the program and define the roadmap for supported applications
- Work closely with the team and platform teams to solve architectural opportunities
- Design scalable systems with performance security privacy and reliability in mind
- Evaluate technology choices and rapidly test solutions
- Understand and work with Architects to design the data structure to execute the vision
- Integration:
- Design and oversee integrations with third-party systems (REST/SOAP APIs databases legacy systems)
- Ensure secure and efficient data exchanges
Qualifications
What you bring
- University Degree or Equivalent (ideally in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Technology)
- 10 years of experience in IT with a focus on architecture software engineering or infrastructure
- 3 -5 years of experience with the APPIAN platform
- 2 years of experience with AI/generative AI
- Expert level knowledge leading complex technical projects
- Expert level knowledge of data architecture / data modelling
- Expert level Data Management systems: mysql microsoft sql postgres BigQuery etc
- Expert facilitation negotiation risk and communication skills
- Expert relationship building with key stakeholders
- Knowledge of Devops & DataOps practices CI/CD pipelines and agile software development tools processes governance and best practices
- Intermediate experience with process optimization; process mapping and process improvement approaches
- Knowledge of Project Management Methodologies
- Knowledge of Cloud Based Applications including Postgres AWS GCP APIs Microservices
Great-to-haves
- Experience with TELUS IT network architecture and security protocols
- Experience with Telecom Network Build Programs ideally within TELUS Networks
Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients suppliers candidates external partners etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues internal partners stakeholders etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this positions main responsibilities given its international scope.
