Position Summary
As part of UHNs commitment to modernizing and operationalizing a transparent equitable and competitive compensation framework the organization is undertaking a significant assessment and redesign of salary structures for non-union employees. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Total Rewards your expertise as a Senior Specialist Compensation Projects will serve as a critical conduit between strategic direction and UHN-wide execution of this program.
You will contribute to the structural review through analyzing and interpreting recommendations including updates to banding architecture and market alignment strategies. Using advanced compensation analytics you will evaluate impacts across job families levels and employee groups. Working closely with Total Rewards People & Culture Finance and HRIS colleagues this role will deliver data-driven insights prepare concise summaries and reports for executive approval and support the continuous improvement of compensation programs and processes in a large complex organization.
Duties
- Structural Review & Methodology Configuration: Apply advanced compensation analytics and methodologies to support the design and validation of data-driven frameworks and recommendations.
- Redesign of Compensation Administration Practices & Policies: Develop compensation administration policies that are transparent and support equity-focused decision-making while ensuring legislative compliance.
- Job Evaluation & Methodology Governance: Analyze assess and evaluate job data to determine scope grade classification market value and internal equity for new and existing positions. Provide expert recommendations and implementation support for updated job evaluation methodology including the administration governance and application of new or revised procedures and tools.
- Stakeholder Consultation & Collaboration: Collaborate with People & Culture and department leaders to ensure compensation analytics are in line with pay practices and support decision-making requirements.
- Project Planning & Execution: Support project planning activities including developing implementation roadmaps key milestones and analytics to support deployment of compensation initiatives.
- Communication: Translate complex compensation concepts and findings into clear concise materials for key stakeholders and contribute to the development of user guidance and change communications.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in compensation.
- Training: Build compensation-related training materials and knowledge transfer particularly in support of new programs and HRIS changes.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum 4 years experience in a Compensation role that is focused on banding architecture compa-ratio methodology job evaluation and market alignment strategies.
- Demonstrated experience supporting the implementation of new compensation structures or major changes to pay programs.
- Strong background in policy development pay equity compliance and administrative governance.
- Exceptional analytical and Excel modeling abilities.
- Deep understanding of compensation strategy policy and job architecture.
- Strong written communication skills with experience in drafting both technical and change-oriented materials.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Able to navigate ambiguity and build alignment in complex environments.
- Proficiency with HRIS software (specifically with Advanced Compensation modules).
- Experience in healthcare or broader public sector considered an asset.
