DESCRIPTION The CNC Machinist/Programmer operates as a skilled intermediate-level technician within the manufacturing department. This role produces high-quality machined parts by programming setting up and operating CNC machines while maintaining safety quality and documentation standards. The machinist demonstrates growing independence technical precision and professionalism while supporting production goals and continuous improvement initiatives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Plan machining operations by studying blueprints materials specifications and assembly drawings.
- Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to ensure part accuracy and conformance.
- Program CNC mills and lathes by entering instructions setting zero and reference points and defining work offsets.
- Perform calculations involving geometry and trigonometry to support precise machining operations.
- Verify setups and part conformance by inspecting first-run and in-process workpieces.
- Maintain specifications by observing operations and making adjustments to meet quality requirements.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean organized and hazard-free work environment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance troubleshooting and basic equipment repairs.
- Document activities by completing production inspection and quality logs accurately.
- Support knowledge sharing across shifts by communicating updates irregularities and ongoing needs.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement opportunities to expand skills and efficiency.
- Contribute to organizational goals by identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled.
- Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
- Clean and lubricate machines tools and equipment in order to remove grease rust stains and foreign matter.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Proven organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work with limited supervision.
- Ability to explain how and why specific conclusions were reached.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to remain flexible to changing schedules and demands.
High School diploma or Associates degree from an accredited community college or vocational school
