Job Summary

Position Summary

Prepare and administer laboratory assignments which provide practical experiences for students.

Salary: Appropriate placement onACCS Salary Schedule E2 Grade 3: $45220 - $62710

(Salary within this range is determined by your documented years of full-time related work experience)


Work Hours: Monday through Thursday 7:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.; Friday 7:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assign and direct lab exercises for students and classroom instructors.
  2. Advise and assist students with class work and homework.
  3. Administer grade and record written and practical exams including make-up exams.
  4. Display/demonstrate pertinent tests and procedures.
  5. Maintain student records.
  6. Assist and supervise students.
  7. Assist students with laboratory exercises and assigned projects.
  8. Assist and support students with activities related to SkillsUSA.
  9. Assist with recruiting.
  10. Assist in writing and revising lab instructions and materials prepare lab materials for use in lab settings.
  11. Provide laboratory evaluation for each student.
  12. Assist with simulators in the computer lab.
  13. Prepare and maintain equipment and activities for labs.
  14. Maintain lab equipment.
  15. Prepare and maintain teaching materials as required.
  16. Conduct and maintain inventory of tools equipment and instructional materials.
  17. Unpack equipment; check packing slips.
  18. Write and revise lab instructions and materials; prepare for use in lab setting.
  19. Perform all duties with professionalism.
  20. Perform related work as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. A minimum of an Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology from an accredited institution is required .
  2. A minimum of one (1) year successful work experience in CNC and Manual Machining or a minimum of six (6) months work experience in a post secondary lab environment in a technology related field is required.

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate through their experiences and accomplishments:

  1. Knowledge of all types of equipment used in machining;
  1. Experience with Tool & Die;
  2. Ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs for advanced computer work (i.e. Word Excel Teams);
  3. Experience with LEAN manufacturing practices and procedures;
  4. Experience with multiple manufacturers of CNC equipment;
  5. Documented evidence of ability to stay current with advancing technologies and implementation into the lab environment;
  6. Prior experience in supervising personnel;
  7. Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  8. Willingness to work directly with students in a lab setting;
  9. Certifications or accomplishments in technical field;
  10. Sensitivity and commitment to cultural diversity;
  11. Willingness to learn and work with other occupational areas as required;
  12. Ability to work with minimal supervision/ work independently;
  13. Ability to operate in a professional manner at all times;
  14. Ability to greet individuals of any background with friendliness tact and courtesy;
  15. Ability to operate in high pressure situations and respond to issues in a calm manner;
  16. Conscientious- care about how work is done and wanting to do a good job;
  17. Initiative- responding to downtime by taking responsibility to do other work;
