Position Summary

The Nurse Manager will provide management and daily supervision of clinical and non-clinical patient care staff at multiple Pediatric specialty clinic locations in Missouri and Illinois for an academic healthcare center. With responsibility for leading both clinical and administrative workstreams the manager should have demonstrated ability to meet established quality patient satisfaction and operational goals of the department and WashU Medicine.

The ideal candidate will have a track record for management of people and teams that support successful clinical operations and deliver excellent results. The Manager will also have responsibility for data-driven decision making and be comfortable leading workflow assessments implementation of resource optimization and be a driver of improvement.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates outpatient services with faculty providers and staff to provide quality care effectively including conducting clinic rounds to ensure team alignment with quality of patient care delivery expectations.
  • Monitors supplies and equipment ordering and repairing equipment as required to ensure the quality of care and operational standard are sustained.
  • Directs assigns and coordinates the activities and duties of the staff evaluating and coaching performance orienting new staff. Provides and advises administration of conditions. Coordinates and ensures completion of staff continuing education in-service and quality improvement activities staff programs and meetings.
  • As required the Manager may provide direct patient care including development of patient care plans administering medication vitals phlebotomy and maintain records in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
  • Promotes and maintains positive public relations with patients and families acting as liaison between other departments.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information responding to requests building rapport and participating in team problem solving methods.
  • Reviews assists and promotes the development of policies and procedures in compliance with medical school state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Functions as a Clinical Service Representative (CSR) as staffing needs dictate.
  • Ensures that department pre-arrival process is completed per guidelines.
  • Ensures that point of care testing is ordered documented and charged in the electronic health system following department guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications those without a skills assessment component are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri or Illinois.

Salary Range

$78500.00 - $141200.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including ones qualifications and performance equity with others in the department market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
