Job Summary

Position Overview

The Nursing Manager for the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) is responsible for the 24-hour leadership and management of the assigned clinical unit ensuring high-quality patient care that meets established standards. This role involves overseeing nursing operations coordinating staff activities and fostering a collaborative environment that promotes excellence in clinical practice and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership supervision and coordination for nursing staff within the Intermediate Care Unit.

  • Ensure delivery of patient care aligns with professional standards regulatory requirements and hospital policies.

  • Collaborate with physicians multidisciplinary teams and other departments to optimize patient care and workflow.

  • Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.

  • Manage staffing levels scheduling and resource allocation to maintain efficient operations.

  • Support professional development and competency of nursing staff through training evaluation and mentorship.

  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the development of departmental goals and policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

  • Acute care Intermediate Care (IMC) experience required.

  • Leadership experience required.

  • Current state RN license (or eligibility for licensure).

  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in a hospital or acute care setting.

  • Strong communication organizational and problem-solving skills.
