Responsibilities:

Teach swim classes according to British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons and environment.
Commitment to working weekday afternoons and evenings as well as mornings afternoons and evenings on weekends to align with schedules that best accommodate children and parents.

Requirements

Spend a significant amount of time in the water to teach and guide instructors.
Passionate about working with children. A fun outgoing and confident personality to engage children with creative teaching methods clear communication patience enthusiasm and strong leadership while ensuring water safety.

Preferred Qualifications but nor required at the time of hiring:

Experience working with children and/or parents but not required.
Swimming experience: 1-2 years preferred but not required.
Customer service skills: 1 year preferred but not required.
Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training).
Experience in creating and managing engaging social media content.

A Swim Instructor at British Swim School teaches swim lessons to children and adults starting at 3 months old using our fun gentle and progressive methods. You will receive extensive training to build your confidence and ability to work with a variety of swimmers and abilities. Having fun and interacting with our swimmers is an important part of the role! A strong focus is placed on providing survival swim techniques living out the British Swim School mission and making a big impact on decreasing drowning.

We strive to make a substantial impact within our communities to combat the tragically high child drowning statistics. We invest in quality team members to teach our lessons with the mindset that we are two schools in one a survival school first and a learn-to-swim school second. As a result we can support our mission to ensure that every person regardless of age or ability has the opportunity to become a safe and happy swimmer.

Compensation: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. Its helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job but its not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.

We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team even if youre not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the these roles you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool.
