Job Summary
This individual will oversee the LUHS Opportunity Room and support the systems that have been built to promote a positive school climate. This includes supporting instructional staff and students through consultation and direct services related to a students social emotional and behavioral needs. The student support specialist working out of the Opportunity Room will coordinate a safe space within the school where students who are having difficulty meeting behavior expectations can regulate reflect and prepare to re-engage with their teachers and peers. This individual will work closely with students staff and parents/guardians to appropriately address individual student behavioral issues. They will also work proactively to implement strategies for school-wide modeling of established student conduct expectations guidelines and systems through restorative practices.
