Overview

Physical Therapists are movement experts who improve quality of life through hands-on care patient education and prescribed movement. Our Physical therapist work as a team with physical therapy assistants to treat people of all ages and this position with Presbyterians Acute Care rehabilitation department gives clinicians the opportunity to treat a variety of patients and the ability to work with a group of therapist that have a range in specialties. The acute care rehabilitation team is collaborative and patient-focused. We place a strong emphasis on providing orientation and mentorship in order to ensure the well-being and success of our new team members. Responsibilities

Requires detailed knowledge of physical therapy in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is done this level includes interpretation of data.

Basic computer skills required.

Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting

Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.

Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served

Oversees and insures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical psychosocial and immediate environmental well-being of the patient

Promotes patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence.

Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care.

Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.

Is a patient advocate.

Other duties as assigned.


Participates in educational programs and inservices and other meetings as required. Participates on special project teams and other related duties as assigned and requested

Qualifications

  • Less than one year of experience in physical therapy. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy Preferred.
  • NM License of Physical Therapy required.
  • BLS required at time of hire.
