Students are challenged and inspired to be active workers toward their own education and teachers strive to develop meaningful relationships with each child and Gordon School a progressive nursery to eighth-grade independent school in East Providence RI is seeking applicants to cover a medical leave in our unique Young Kindergarten classroom. The ideal candidate will serve as the classroom teacher during the medical leave co-teach upon the teachers return and act as a building substitute for the remainder of the school year. The Young Kindergarten class serves a small group of up to 11 students providing a bridge between preschool and kindergarten. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to experiential play-based and inquiry-driven learning and will excel at creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where our youngest learners can thrive socially emotionally and academically. The ideal candidate will have values and an educational philosophy closely aligned with Gordons mission and have a deep understanding of the educational social and emotional and developmental stages of four and five-year-olds.
